Friday September 18, 2009 UBC Administration Minutes
Attendance: Miranda Doyle, Michael McCachren, Chris Scerri, Danielle Belluomini, Lenda Butcher-Myers, Gloria Minjares.
1. McCachren- clean-up sheets
-Belluomini- every day, need attendance of what students are excused
-Minjares- school loop has attendance, will make information more complete on daily sheet, also students bring absent slips to class days after they return, will check on absent slips being used regularly.
2. McCachren- Paras
-Minjares- waiting to hear from HR, may rebalance classes, may get para from Vis Valley
3. Brown- Textbooks- on their way? We need a plan for 8th graders that do not turn in their
Textbooks (who will enforce this)
-Minjares- Dr. E decision on consequences, this needs to be brought to him.
-Brown- book checks could be part of their grade
Minjares -Other schools hold diploma. Tried to collect more last year, collected some money;
However, could be better tracking system. Consequences could be: activities
Could teachers come up with classroom procedures, school will set consequences. Lets
Get this out to parents before back to school night.
-Scerri- Could we put missing textbooks on interim?
4. McCachren-Dream Team was formally run by staff
-Brown-Some people feel that mandatory committees will make people reluctant to
Participate. Inspired to participate instead.
-Minjares- I think it needs should be shared. I agree it needs to be clarified. Dr E needs to
Address this.
5. McCachren- Back to school night Comp Time.
-Come in early -Leave earlier -Early release on Fridays
