· Students provided with written passes from teachers/staff
· Teacher/Staff meet students at front door or entry refused, unless
student has written pass.
· Violators given referrals and/or detention/suspension as defiance of
rule.
· Students need written pass to restroom during lunchtime.
· Shared supervision of students to insure violations limited during
lunch time
· Student violators lose lunchtime privileges, given lunchtime cleanup,
after school/Saturday school detention.
· ONCE A STUDENT ENTERS THE BUILDING, THEY CANNOT LEAVE A SPONSORED
ACTIVITY OR CLASSROOM WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION
· INNER PARKING LOT SIDE ENTRY DOOR REMAINS LOCKED DURING LUNCH:
TEACHERS/STAFF PROVIDED WITH INNER SIDE ENTRY DOOR ACCESS KEY.
Uniform policy
Uniform:
1. Students shall be required to wear uniform white shirt/blouse and
black pants/skirt.
2. No non-uniform jackets/sweaters allowed in classroom other than
school uniform red sweater, red pullover sweater, and/or 6th, 7th, 8th
grade hoodies.
A. If student(s) enter classroom with non-uniform sweater:
1. Students asked to remove garment.
2. If students refuse they are given a referral for defiance and sent
to attendance/counseling office.
3. Teachers record student(s) out of uniform return to principal to
contact parents/guardians
4. STUDENT WILL NOT BE REMOVED FROM CLASSROOM FOR BEING OUT OF UNIFORM
EXCEPT IN CASES OF DEFIANCE.
UNIFORM POLICY: Preventative measures:
a. Students provided with uniform garment needed to comply if available.
b. Students who adhere to policy given various extrinsic rewards weekly.
c. Uniform policy adherence incentives should not punish students who
follow uniform policy.
Buddy Room:
USED FOR LESSER INFRACTIONS WHICH MAY DISRUPT THE CLASSROOM, BUT ARE
NOT OPEN DEFIANCE
· It was agreed that in most circumstances buddy rooms should be in
close proximity to each other to prevent hallway disruptions.
· There should be flexibility in cases where special Ed and general Ed
teacher have an agreement or in case of absence of teachers. No student
should be sent to a buddy room when teacher is absent.
· Security guards must constantly patrol classroom areas through out
school day and look in on teachersÕ classes occasionally to show a
presence.
· The administration must provide an ISS/Opportunity Room and staff it
with administrators with support, when needed and only using counselors
as a last resort.
· Location of the ISS/Opportunity Room must be within building as in
the room in the main office between the principal and assistant
principal.
· The library is not a buddy room, nor a place to send disruptive
students without the LibrarianÕs permission.

· Causing or attempting to cause damage to school property or private
property
· Possession of spray can or markers without written permission of
school authority.
· Planning or participating in any hazing, or any act that causes or is
likely to cause personal humiliation or disgrace
· Students bringing outsiders onto campus with the intent to cause
disruption, fight, theft, assault, etc.
· Any student causing disruption of school activity will be subject to
disciplinary action
· Defiance - The refusal by a student to follow the direction of a
school employee. This includes but is not limited to the following:
verbal abuse or gestures, refusal to give legal name, disrespectful
language, or failure to accompany the employee to the office.
· Committed an obscene act or engaged in habitual profanity or
vulgarity.
· Fighting - Physical force against another person in an attack during
mutual combat, which doesn't involve serious injury or weapons.
· Persistent violation of dress code.
· Possession of electronic signaling devices, including "beepers",
radios/tape/CD/MP3 recorders/players and cell phones
· Possession or use of firecrackers and/or fireworks, or use of
lighters or matches, or use of mace or pepper spray.
· Use of slurs against any students, or school personnel, on the basis
of race, color, creed, national origin, religion, ancestry, age, sex,
sexual orientation, gender identity or disability.
· Threats to students, teachers, or school staff members.
· Sexual harassment and/or Hate violence.
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN WHEN A STUDENT IS REFERRED TO THE COUNSELLING
OFFICE:
· STUDENTS MUST HAVE WRITTEN REFERRAL AND/OR PASS FROM TEACHER/STAFF.
(REFERRAL FORTHCOMING: SENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE)
· STUDENTS SHALL BE REQUIRED TO WRITE INCIDENT REPORTS AND/OR
REFLECTIONS OF WHAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR, WHICH LEAD TO THEIR
REFERRAL
· IN SCHOOL SUSPENSION AND/OR AFTERSCHOOL OPPORTUNITY ROOM CONSEQUENCE
SHALL BE SUPERVISED BY APPROPRIATE/QUALIFIED ONSITE AND AFTERSCHOOL
STAFF
· STUDENTS SHALL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE TEACHER PROVIDED GRADE LEVEL
WORKSHEETS AND/OR SECOND STEP LESSONS, WHILE SUPERVISED BY
ISS/OPPORTUNITY ROOM ADMINISTRATORS WITH SUPPORT.
· ADMINISTRATION WILL RESTRUCTURE COUNSELLING OFFICE.
· STUDENT REQUIRING ISS CONSEQUENCE WILL BE PLACED IN HOUSE
ISS/OPPORTUNITY ROOM FOR THIS CLASS PERIOD OR LONGER.
· REFERRED STUDENTS SHALL BE PLACED IN DESIGNATED ISS/OPPORTUNITY ROOM
TO COMPLETE INCIDENT REPORTS, REFLECTIONS AND STANDARDS BASED GRADE
LEVEL WORKSHEETS/ASSIGNMENTS.
· TEACHER (S) SHALL PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH GRADE LEVEL, STANDARDS BASED
WORKSHEETS, ASSIGNMENTS. AND SKILL BUILDING MATERIALS TO PROMOTE
CONTINUED ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ADHERENCE TO SCHOOL WIDE/ CLASSROOM
RULES.

SAFELY WALKING FROM PE AND LUNCH AND/OR TO CLASS IN THE HALLWAYS
Calmly walk and talk in halls to ensure safe transitions from place to
place.
1. Warning.
A. Require that the student go back and return safely.
B. Ignoring a request to change behavior is DEFIANCE
* ((If repeated incidences have occurred, a Referral should be sent to
the Office.))
PREVENTATIVE MEASURES:
A. Teachers model talking calmly and quietly.
B. Teachers with one foot inside and one foot outside of classroom
during passing periods.
C. An adult needs to be present at the intersection in front of the
library at all passing periods.
CURRENT POLICY-
Electronic devices (cassette/cd players, radios, headphones, beepers,
etc.) are not to be brought to school.
1. Warning.
2. Confiscate, next time to main office.
3. Confiscate, send to main office, return to parent.
4. Confiscate, send to main office, return to parent in June.
PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
A. Allow students to listen to their music (through teacher/school
